The Dales || Matthew + Makyla

This wedding was a photographer’s dream 😍 Not only did this wedding run on time - quite a bit of it was even early! That will probably be a once in a lifetime experience (Which is totally okay! Even if your wedding runs a bit behind, we make do + make sure everything happens!), but it made the day so easy-peasy! Makyla’s day began at an AirBnB not too far from their venue, BRICK in San Diego. There, we got some super cute robe pics with her + her bridesmaids, and she got ready with her momma and did a first look with her step-dad. From there, I headed to the venue where. I captured some details and groomsmen photos before Matthew and Makyla got to have some beautiful intimate moments before their ceremony.

While they knew they didn’t want to do a first look (gotta save that for the aisle!), Makyla still carved out plenty of time to have a first touch, prayer, and exchange letters with her soon-to-be hubby. If you don’t want to have a first look at your wedding, I would highly recommend incorporating at least one - if not all of these - prior to your ceremony if you have the time! Wedding day will flyyyy by, I promise you. Having special moments of just you and your honey will make your day even more memorable!

Being at a loft, the venue was essentially a blank canvas for Matthew and Makyla, as well as the coordinators, to plan and decorate, and for my creativity to run wild! I loved being able to incorporate the high ceilings and windows in some of the photos, and there were plenty of places just a few minutes walk from the venue where we could also take photos - by the harbor, arches and other pretty buildings, the nearby golf course, and more!
