Classy Downtown & Western Lakeside Engagements | Ricardo + Kate

We started in the heart of downtown, where the city’s architecture and skyline really does half the work. The grand columns of First Presbyterian Church and the UNT College of Law building, the sleek glass towers rising behind them, the wide open streets on a quiet Sunday afternoon all comes together in that particular way downtown Dallas does when the light is right and the wind (famously relentless) decides to behave. There’s an energy here that’s hard to manufacture elsewhere, and Ricardo and Kate owned it.

From there, we traded skyline for shoreline. White Rock Lake sits on the eastern edge of the city with rolling hills, open water and golden grass that stretches towards the horizon. The contrast with downtown couldn’t have been more intentional. Where the first portion of their session was architectural and bold, the lake brought something quieter and intimate. It’s a kind of stillness that lets a couple just be.

Two locations and two completely different moods, but one city that holds it all together beautifully.

It was an honor to document Ricardo and Kate’s engagement season, and I’m so excited for their wedding this summer!
